OUR MISSION:

MISSION STATEMENT:
"The mission of the North Salt Lake Community Enforcement Department is to provide a safe, healthy, and quality of life for it's citizens while at the same time promoting a high degree of professionalism and respect for human dignity."
VISION STATEMENT:
"To be a strong and effective organization through open communication, teamwork, mutual respect, and a partnership with the community, willing to pioneer innovative approaches through community enforcement."
Welcome to the Community Enforcement Department Page. Community Enforcement promotes and maintains a safe and desirable community consistent with health and safety regulations, and to provide residents with sustainable property values and lower crime rate. This is done by assisting residents/property owner to be in compliance with the city codes in a friendly, fair, and impartial manner.
The North Salt Lake Community Officer is Proactive. He seeks out areas in the city that are out of compliance with the city code and then works with residents/property ownders to bring the property back into compliance. The Community Enforcement Officer also investigates complaints of municipal code violations relating to health, safety, nuisances, housing and zoning violations via personal contact/ interview, U.S. Mail, Telephone, and Email.
"FIX-IT" TICKET CITATION:
Courtesy notices also known as "Fix-it" ticket citations identifying alleged compliance issues are delivered or mailed to residents informing them when a violation(s) has come to the city's attention. This "Fix-it" ticket citation gives the resident/property owner fourteen (14) days to correct the problem. At which time, should the violation not be remedied, the citation will then be turned over to the city attorney for further action. If the violation is corrected within the fourteen (14) day grace period, residents must contact the Community Enforcement Office for re-inspection of the property. It is the residents/ property owner's responsibility to resolve the violation or contact the Community Enforcement office for a case review. In cases where an immediate inspection is needed, the officer will make an appointment with the resident/property owner or may visit the property unannounced.
