Wednesday, March 02, 2011 - 11:56 AM
The draft 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) has been approved for public comment and can be found at wfrc.org beginning March 2. The comment period will run from March 2, 2011 through April 1, 2011. Comments may be submitted to: sam@wfrc.org; Wasatch Front Regional Council, Attn: Sam, 295 North Jimmy Doolittle Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84116 or by calling 801-363-4250, ext. 1116.
In order to facilitate further public accessibility to the draft RTP, the Regional Council will hold three open houses in March in cooperation with UDOT and UTA as follows:
1. Salt Lake County open house at the Salt Lake County Government Center north building atrium, 2001 South State Street in Salt Lake City on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.
2. Weber County open house at the Weber County Government Center Breakout Room, 2380 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
3. Davis County open house at the Clinton City Recreation Center, 2300 North 1651 West, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The RTP is the governing document for all regionally significant highway and transit capacity expansion projects and is updated every four years. This is an opportunity for you to help shape our transportation future by submitting comments that will be seen by the members of the Regional Council. Over the next 30 years, the population of the Wasatch Front (Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah Counties) will increase by 74% from 2.1 million to 3.6 million. The decisions we make on transportation and land use will have a direct effect on the livability and prosperity of our community for generations to come. Please participate and let your voice be heard.
