Dedication Celebration and Restoration Effort Weed Pull

Who: Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon, Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker, North Salt Lake City Mayor and City Council, Utah Open Lands Executive Director Wendy Fisher, Citizens of Salt Lake County and Davis County
When: Tuesday, July 6th 2010 at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
What: Come and celebrate the dedication and conservation efforts of the Bonneville Shoreline Preserve. The celebration will be followed by a restoration effort weed pull. Community members of all ages are invited to participate. Gloves will be available to the first 200 volunteers.
In 2006, Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County each contributed $1.75 million for the purchase and conservation of 58 acres of land at the border of Salt Lake and Davis Counties. The project is a partnership between Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, North Salt Lake and Utah Open Lands.
Where: The dedication celebration will take place at the entry to the Bonneville Shoreline Preserve at the corner of Parkway and Eagle Pointe Drive in North Salt Lake, Utah. The weed pull will begin in the same location. See attached map for details.
Why: Participation in the dedication celebration and restoration effort event at the Bonneville Shoreline Preserve ensures stewardship and the protection of open space and recreation opportunity vital to our quality of life along the Wasatch Front.
