2021 Municipal Elections
Notice of 2021 Municipal Election
Pursuant to Utah Code 10-3-301, the City of North Salt Lake hereby gives notice that the City will hold its municipal election this fall to elect a mayor and two council members. The Primary Election date is Tuesday, August 10, 2021 (if needed) and the General Election date is Tuesday, November 2, 2021. City of North Salt Lake elections are non-partisan.
The Mayor and Council Members serve four-year terms and are elected at-large.
Anyone interested in filing for one of these offices must:
- Be a U.S. citizen at the time of filing
- Be a registered voter of the City of North Salt Lake
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a resident of the City of North Salt Lake for at least 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of election (November 2, 2021)
Declaration of Candidacy Forms or Nomination Petition must be filed in person with the City Recorder’s office at 10 East Center Street, North Salt Lake, Utah between the hours of 8:00 am and not later than 5:00 pm from June 1, 2021 through June 7, 2021. UCA 20A-9-203
The form is available at the City Recorder’s Office. There is a $25.00 filing fee.
The City of North Salt Lake contracts with Davis County for administering the elections. All elections are now Vote by Mail. Make sure you are registered. Ballots begin to arrive 21 days before each election. (You will still be able to vote in person at NSL City Hall from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election day. Please bring your ballot if you received one.)
2021 Election Dates: The 2021 General Election takes place Tuesday, November 2, 2021. The Primary Election will be held August 10, 2021.
