2023 Liberty Fest
As we clean up, sort, and make notes for next year's Liberty Fest, we want to take a moment to thank those who are instrumental in making this festival a success. We could not do this without dedicated City staff, primarily our Public Works department, Eaglewood Golf Course staff, and Recreation Department managers, Julie McLachlan and Kristin Robinson.
Did you know we have resident volunteers who chair the Eaglewood Auto Fest and Fireworks show? Allen Simonsen works tirelessly on the car show's success whether it is smoothing an ego of the exotic car owner, or finding the best place to park the largest dump truck in Utah.
Dan Checketts heads up coordination of the July 3rd Fireworks and Fun at the golf course. Did you like the sky divers, paragliders or The Dance Doctors party band? Dan is the man to thank for these as well as the fireworks soundtrack and the fireworks show itself.
Successful community events often begin with someone's vision and passion and then are grown through support and backing by the City Council, City staff, generous community partners, and the next volunteer willing and exciting to take the baton. Allen and Dan are such volunteers, and we thank them wholeheartedly for giving back to the City.
This year, the City was pleased to partner with Big West Oil* in bringing to you our largest fireworks show ever. Big West Oil has been sponsoring NSL events for many years, and the City was excited to add to this year's fireworks show thanks to their generosity. We hope you noticed the variety and non-stop energy and felt the patriotism and gratitude, as we did, for our country's freedoms.
Please check out and support our additional LIBERTY FEST 2023 SPONSORS!
Until next year - which, by the way, will be held June 29, July 2 and 3, 2024!
*Big West Oil is headquartered in North Salt Lake where they employ over 200 people.
