The Community Development Department is responsible for all current and long range planing, building plan checks and inspections, as well as administration of grants and special housing programs.

Office Operations During COVID-19
In an effort to keep the public and city employees safe, a reduced city staff will be available to assist you during this time. The city offices will not be open to the public. If you need to submit an application for a land use permit or building permit we will be accepting applications by email. If email submission is not possible due to plan file size or other barrier, submissions may be made appointment. Where possible permits will be issued electronically, or by appointment as well by calling

The Community & Economic Development Department is where all development-related activities in the City of North Salt Lake begin. Our mission is to implement strategies and processes that will ensure new construction and redevelopment projects which are consistent with the community’s vision and are compatible with the design expectations of the community.
